Brand new compositions written for the unusual combination of piano and drum set. Brothers Jai and Lee Jeffryes have been duking it out for a lifetime. Until now. Pianist Jai and drummer Lee competed for practice time growing up in their mid-Western home when their dad, James, wasn't giving music lessons. For the inaugural concert of the Jeffryes Brothers, they can finally practice in the same room. Featured on the program are two compositions by Gene Pritsker; 'Time Here Becomes Space III' and 'Essence', 'Late Day Thunder' by Peri Mauer and 'Suburbica' by Jai Jeffryes, which channels the Exotica of Martin Denny, reframing it to a mid-Western town not quite so... exotic. Also works by Rick Baitz, Seth Boustead, Vicky Cheng, Lee Jeffryes, Peter Jarvis, Mark Kostabi and Alan Sentman. |
