Started learning North Indian classical vocal from a very tender age. Before I was introduced to vocals my training by learning the art of playing Tabla from Pandit Shankar Ghosh. Thereafter, my rigorous training began under the able tutelage of Ustad Munawar Ali Khan (son of the legendary Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali Khan). Later I was taught by Ustad Raza Ali Khan.

I have been performing for the last 15 years and teaching serious students of this genre of music is something I love.

Apart from the usual classical fare which include genres like 'khayal','thumri','ghazal',and 'bhajan', I am also comfortable in certain folk based melodies of northern India. Sufi music as practised in northern India is another favourite. `

Apart from numerous shows both within the country and abroad I have also published some music.
