She also gave the first concert performance of Philip Glass' complete music for unaccompanied strings at Grand Valley State University, and performed Lou Harrison's "Suite for Violin and Gamelan" in a new version for handbell choir with Embellish. In January 1999 Christina Fong performed the world premiere of Michael Nyman's "On The Fiddle" with the Grand Rapids Symphony. As part of a recent focus on making recordings, Fong's ongoing "first recordings" series now includes the world premieres of John Cage's (1912-1992) final solo violin works (complete "number pieces" for solo violin, "One6" & "One10") and of Cage's final works for string ensemble (complete "number pieces" for string ensemble, "Twenty-Three" & "Twenty-Six").

Future work includes additional performances of Philip Glass' 75-minute music-theatre piece "The State of the Tibetan Nation — A Madrigal Opera" and the premiere of Amnon Wolman's hour-long version of his 11-hour techno-dance house-music epic "The Andy Warhol Diaries." Upcoming recording projects include a CD of violin|viola and keyboard works by Alan Hovhaness (2001 release), the world premiere recording of Morton Feldman's 2CD-length 1985 work "Violin and String Quartet" (2001 release), the first available recording of music by Bob Shechtman, a CD of piano and violin works by Roelof Bijkerk, a full-length CD of three unrecorded early works by Michael Nyman, and a CD spotlighting short works by various composers.

Fong has Bachelors and Masters degrees from Northwestern University, where she graduated Pi Kappa Lambda and was awarded the honorary title "Eckstein Scholar." Her principle violin teachers were Blair Milton, Myron Kartman, and Donna Schaff. She complemented special studies in orchestral music with Samuel Magad, Rubin Gonzales, Francis Akos, Charlie Pikler, Blair Milton, and Edgar Muenzer with chamber music coachings by Gerardo Ribiero, Donald Owens, and Ray Still. Fong has held positions with the Florida Philharmonic and the Civic Orchestra of Chicago. As soloist, Fong has appeared with the Grand Rapids Symphony and Grand Valley State University Orchestra, and as rehearsal soloist with the Civic Orchestra of Chicago.

A member of the Grand Rapids Symphony since 1988, Fong is currently Associate Concertmaster and plays in the Symphony's Calder Quartet, which tours western Michigan giving civic and educational concerts. Since 1990, Fong has also served as an adjunct instructor of violin at Grand Valley State University.

Of Andalucian origin, Ricardo's family left for France during the Franco years. Flamenco was a way of holding on to roots and the whole family was brought up within the tradition: Ricardo learning guitar from his uncle Antonio from a very young age and later performing with his aunt, Ana Maria, brothers and cousins. His mother, Maria del Carmen is an excellent singer and he accompanied her from an early age. His father, Dionisio, encouraged him and bullied him alternately as a child, making sure he practised regularly and taking the whole family back to his village near Sevilla every summer in order to experience first hand the music and soul of the region. Ricardo’s first public performance was at the age of nine and he has played regularly in public ever since. He continued to perform both solo and with his aunt and uncle in numerous concerts throughout France and in 1988 he was chosen to represent France culturally on a tour around Uruguay and Argentina, sponsored by the Casa de America Latina. Whilst still a student he performed in the Zenith in Paris fronting a Pat Metheny concert, which inspired him to incorporate jazz into his repertoire.

Eight years teaching and performing in Southern Africa followed. Returning to Europe in 1999, Ricardo settled in Barcelona and continues to travel mainly between Spain, France and Scotland to perform, although he has also performed in Canada, Asia, the United States, France, Spain, the UK and Ireland in recent years. Ricardo has performed in the Edinburgh Festival for six years running and toured to Montreal and Vancouver in 2005. 2006 saw him performing on four continents, travelling most of the year. From Cambodia to Canada, Brighton to Bangkok, Montreal, Paris, Ottawa, Toronto, Winnipeg, Washington, several Scottish dates and Cape Town, South Africa.

Ricardo played a residency in New Jersey in May 2006 at The State Theatre, New Brunswick and he has expanded his links with the USA during this year, playing six shows in San Francisco in September and a series of private evenings in Washington in November, 2006. It's been a year of sell out shows and five star reviews. He has played in schools, prisons, hospitals, community centres, performed in the Edinburgh Fringe opening party, "Lunch with the Hamiltons", participated on the CD "Set Luna" by Julia Sarr and Pat Larose with Mino Cinelu ( Ricardo says, "A dream come true!"). On the same CD as Youssou N' Dour, Jean Philippe Rykiel, Tafa Cissé and Laiti Mbaye - the launch was in Paris in November 2005. Outreach for the Edinburgh Fringe 2006, guitar masterclasses and childrens' workshops in Cambodia.

Already for next year there are plans for more time in Montreal, Washington, Vancouver, Assembly Rooms in the Edinburgh Fringe. Orlando in May. Further shows in Cape Town, in Cambodia, in Bangkok.... Caffè Nero has sponsored Ricardo since November 2004 in various ways and play his music regularly in over 200 cafés nationwide. He was featured artist in August for the second time. The third CD "Flamenco con Fusion" has just been released with an official launch series of shows planned for early 2007.

Solène Getenet was born near Paris in 1984. She started playing the piano and the violoncello at the age of four. She fisrt was the pupil of Lucette Descaves, one of the most famous french pedagogues, then of Marie-Paule Siruguet ( Boulogne-Billancourt National Music Academy) and Hubert Guillard. Now she is studying with Romano Pallotini, Nicholas Angelich and Paul Badura-Skoda. In 1995, Solene began her career as a concert pianist. She performed in two concerts with the orchestra in Versailles and Paris (Cortot Concert Hall) and also performed in several recitals, among others in Rennes, Paris and surroundings. In 1996, she was went on her first musical tours through Martinique, Tahiti and Belgium, and she also played in the Gaveau Hall in Paris. In March 1999, Solène won the First Prize in the "Claude Kahn competition", then she stood out at the "International Liszt Festival in Munster" and got the gold medal in the Boulogne-Billancourt National Academy. In 2000, Solène got a first Prize at the "Sucy-en-Brie competition", a first medal in the "Claude Kahn four hands competition", the honorary prize at the "Royaume de la Musique competition" and the first prize (with one consent) at the " Saint-Nom-la-Bretèche competition". She has also been the recipient of various international prizes : in Germany (French-German competition) and Italy (Premio Gramsci competition). In the beginning of 2001, she got many prizes including prizes in the "Wurmser", "Vulaines" and "French-Chinese" competitions. Solène has worked under the guidance of such great names as Abdel Rahman El Bacha, Aldo Ciccolini, Béchara El Khoury , Bertrand Ott, Anne Queffelec, Boaz Sharon, Einar Steen-Nokleberg, Claude Helffer, Marie-Françoise Bucquet, Leslie Howard, Evgeny Moguilevsky, Claude Kahn...

Newspapers Cuttings "Much confidence in her technique, much sensitivity in her phrasing, reminiscent of an early Martha Argerich. One can already sense the makings of a great pianist." Michel Cattelain "At 11 years old, Solène is already a dazzling artist possessing a mastery of her talent and an exceptional power of concentration." P.G Turahiti, Tahiti Matin "Very lively at the keyboard, Solène demonstrated not only a remarkable sensitivity but also a thrilling vigor at the keyboard. Whether accompanied or solo at the piano, Solène Getenet possessed the same comfort and confidence to the delight of the audience, which was astounded by the precocity and the maturity of the young girl." F.S, Les dernières Nouvelles d'Alsace The combination of her great modesty and simplicity, the joy radiating from her face, and her already great talent transported me to a world of bliss." R Lenormand "This so gifted and open minded pianist." Bertrand Ott "It seems to me the Solène definitely possesses all the qualities to be able to envision a beautiful career: magnificent musical qualities and a pianistic essence." Edith Canat de Chizy "Solène is an exceptional pianistic talent with a fine musical temperament and excellent technique. Her playing also has a remarkable individuality that is so often lacking in the playing of even very advanced pianists with more experience." Boaz Sharon "I've had 184 students. Among them, there have been some particularly gifted students, true. But Solène is truly unique, even extraordinary. It's the first time I've seen this. And what does the word "student" mean when such a gift is present? Of course, the work is necessary but with Solène sometimes, I no longer teach, I just listen and reflect." Désiré N'Kaoua It was surprising to see such intuitiveness and naturalness in the young pianist's playing. She didn't falter once, on the contrary, she exhibited a masterful understanding of the content of the music, such that one would not expect from so young a pianist. It was also fascinating to notice how profoundly the French pianist grasped the rather bitter musical thoughts of this very German composer. Friedrich-W. v. Oppeln-Bronikowski

Born in Baton Rouge, LA July 26, 1955. Largely self-taught, began writing music at age twelve. First actual works were for symphonic band and some drum cadences. Keyboard abilities by ear led to his becoming a pianist/keynoardist for two rock/jazz bands while in college (Southeastern Louisiana University/Hammond, LA). In 1982, moved to Baton Rouge abd began playing piano for local restaurant. Also composed commercial jingle for nationwide advertising, and wrote and conducted the dedication music for the installation of the WWII vessel, USS KIDD. Subsequent enrollment in LSU produced several student works, including a string quartet. Began working as fulltime composer/arranger for Christian Life Fellowship, a large charismatic church in Baton Rouge where he played timpani during services. This lasted into 1986, and resulted in the compilation of over 300 arrangements of worship choruses custom-written for church orchestra.

Experiences in Austin, TX and Anderson, SC led to travel to Yellowstone National Park in 1988, after which he domiciled in Berkeley, CA and worked on a student symphony. Having gained ethnomusicological tools to study folklore at Berkeley, he began devising methods of poetically describing Americana in musical terms, and began writing works descriptive of his own experiences and impressions made during his travels. To date, two symphonies are completed as part of a nine-symphony cycle. Numerous other works are planned, including several concertos and ensemble works. While a large orchestral pallette is his medium of choice, he is also adept at writing big band and Latin-styled dance music, primarily as a result of having been an avid percussionist.

Two non-commercial CD's have been completed, SINFONIA (classical) and LOVE BITES (dance/jazz-fusion) as of 2004, and two more are about to be released; SOUL OF THE SKY (classical) and TANGO MANGO (dance/jazz fusion). The former current CD includes seven new pieces for orchestra, the title cut of which is "Soul of the Sky," a fourteen-minute symphonic poem for choir, organ, orchestra and percussion. The title cut for the latter current CD, "Tango Mango," features 'cello and jazz band in true Argentine form. Other notable pieces include "Uncle Don (piano, tenor sax, rhythm/brass section)," "Big Al (You No Like Chinese Food (piano, jazz orhestra)," and "Cowboy Heaven (guitars, organ, rock accompaniment)."

Mr. Graham currently lives in Livingston, MT, about an hour's drive north of Yellowstone National Park. Together with his wife, Laurene, they run a small film/media production company, Eaglefeather Media Productions.
