| | Kathryn Thomas is one of Britain's leading flautists, working principally as a soloist and chamber musician. She has a particular reputation for contemporary music. She is the leader of the Galliard Ensemble Wind Quintet. Recent recitals include the Purcell Room, Wigmore Hall and the Bridgewater Hall.
With The Galliard she has won awards from the Young Musician's Trust, Maisie Lewis Trust, Park Lane Group and BBC Radio 3 Young Artists Forum. They have a forthcoming CD featuring the complete works of Paul Patterson for wind quintet with Meridian Records.
