David Arditti was born in 1964 and lives in London. He is chiefly a composer, but also a conductor, accompanist and teacher.
His compositions include many songs and song-cycles setting many of the major British and American poets, piano music, including his popular "Songs without Words", chamber music, including a String Quartet, orchestral works, choral music, including settings of the Requiem and the mass, and film music. His works have been performed widely in Britain and the United States and are published in both countries.
As ha composer and advocate he is wholeheartedly committed to the revival of simple melodic and harmonic beauty in modern classical music. Some recordings can be heard on his website.
