| Stéphanie Moraly was born in Paris, France, in 1980 and started to play the violin at the age of 6. She won her first competition when she was 10 years old and gave her first recital at the age of 11. During the same year, she won the First Prize in the Mozart Young Prodigies Competition in Paris and gave her First Concert with Orchestra (age 11) in Paris. In 1991, she was also invited to perform at the International Mozart Festival in Prague (Czech Republic).
Miss Moraly entered Paris Conservatoire National at the age of 16 (1996) and got her Premier Prix (First Prize) at the age of 19. In 1998, she participated in a exchange program with Lithuania. There, she gave numerous recitals as a soloist as well as in chamber music and won the First Prize at the Atžalina Concerto Competition, which led her to play the Shostakovitch First Concerto with the Lithuanian National Orchestra in Vilnius in 1999. In 1999, she was admitted to the New England Conservatory of Music of Boston (United States) on a full scholarship to study with Michèle Auclair. She obtained her Graduate Diploma with Distinction in Performance in 2001 and is presently completing her Master's degree at N.E.C.
Since she arrived in the United States, Miss Moraly gave numerous recitals and concerts including several solo performances (with orcehstra and in sonata) in Jordan Hall and a solo appearance with the Community Center Orchestra of Boston.
She won the Third Grand-Prize at the California International Young Artists Competition in October 2000 and the First Prize of the Rome Festival Competition in January 2002, which will make her a featured soloist in Rome in July 2002.
