| Helen Radice graduated with a first from Oxford in 2000. Since then she has been following postgraduate studies in harp performance at the Royal College of Music, where she gained a distinction in her postgraduate diploma (solo/ensemble recitalist). At Oxford she was awarded the Gibbs, Vaughan Morgan & Quigley prizes and the Charles Oldham Prize 2000. Last year she won the audience vote in the Thames Valley Young Musicians Platform and was rated "outstanding" at the Oxford Music Festival.
Helen has a flute and harp duo, with Catherine Goodman. They specialise in themed recitals; two recent projects have been Regency flute & harp and music by film composers. These recitals are accompanied, where appropriate, by detailed programme notes explaining the ideas, themes and key issues behind the programming. Sample notes are available on Helen's website.
Helen's freelance orchestral work includes Northern Sinfonia, St Endellion Festival, Kentish Opera, National Musicians' Symphony and London Philharmonic Youth. She has light music experience, with the Thursford Christmas Spectacular band. She also has a cabaret duo with the baritone Ben Newhouse-Smith.
