My Great Great Grand Father is Late Sri Motilal Pal was a great painter as well as a famous sculptor. My Great Grand Father is Late Sri Vim Chandra Paul was famous in making Harmonium and Sitar. My Grand Father Late Shri Banamali Chandra Paul [ Panchu Babu ] was a renowned Sitar Player with that a popular Sitar maker. Nowadays, My Father Shri Rabindra Nath Paul [ Bablu Da ] is also a very Famous Sitar Maker as well as a Sitar Player . Today standing in 4th Generation, I consider myself as a sitar player. When I was at an age of 7years I started Playing Sitar and I learned basics from my Father who was a [ Student of Ustad Benjamin Gomes ], after then Shri Ashit Golai [ Student of Pt. Dipak Chowdhury ], then Shri Sailen Das [ Student of Pt. Lakshman Bhattacharjee %26 Pt. Ravi Shankar], and Shri Kushal Das. Currently I am also studying from Smt. Ameena Perera [ Daughter of Ustad Ali Akbar Khan ] %26 Shri Asim Chowdhury. [ Student of Ustad Benjamin Gomes and Pt. Bimalendu Mukherjee ], I am also under the supervision of Shri Bhaskar Roy for commercial purpose. Presently I am an Artist of “YUVAVANI”~ All India Radio(KOLKATA) and also the Life Member Sitar Artist of “Calcutta Cine Musicans Association”. I have completed M.A. in Instrumental Music (Sitar) under Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata. I had participated on some prestigious competitions such as Paschim Banga Rajya Chatra Yuba Utsab Music Competition in 1999 and Calcutta University Institute Inter College Oriental Music Competition in 2007, where I stood first. I was rewarded with GOLD MEDAL and V.G. Yog Memorial Award of [ All India Merit Test in “Graduate Level” ] from Sarba Bharatya Sangeet- o-Sanskriti Parishad [W.B. India] in 2008, also GOLD MEDAL of [ All India Merit Test in “Graduate Level”] from Pracheen Kala Kendra [Chandigarh. India] in 2010, and GOLD MEDAL and Gokul Nag Memorial Award of [ All India Merit Test in “Post Graduate Level” ] from Sarba Bharatya Sangeet-o- Sanskriti Parishad [W.B. India] in 2011.
