| | Mr. Harizanos studied composition, counterpoint, fugue, harmony, and orchestration at the National Conservatory of Greece in Athens with Spiros Klapsis and Christos Lambrianidis from 1992-99. He then studied composition with John Casken and Geoffrey Poole at the University of Manchester in 2000-01, where he earned his MMus in composition. He has also attended seminars by Theodore Antoniou, Charles Camilleri, Christos Lambrianidis, and Eric Zoran and studied art history at the Archaeological Institute of Athens from 1994-96
Among his honors are performances in a concert organized by the Greek Embassy in Bucharest (2003, Trio) and at the International Youth Music Forum in Kyiv (2003, Iho). His music has also been heard at various places in Greece and the UK, as performed by the Marcel Spiney Contemporary Music Ensemble, pianist George Philadelpheus, the Psappha Ensemble, and violinist Leonidas Sakelaridis, as well as by numerous festival and university ensembles.
