Lisa Mears is a professional musician based in Swansea, Wales. As a composer, Lisa's music has been performed and broadcast around the UK. In 2004 some of Lisa's works were Highly Commended by SPNM and in 2006 one of Lisa's compositions was the winning entry in the BSO Kokoro Ensemble Composition Competition. In 2012 Lisa was a shortlisted composer in the Cornwall International Festival of Male Voice Choirs Composition Competition and a finalist in the Small Choirs Composing Competition, London. In 2013 Lisa was a First Prize winner in the Small Choirs Composing Competition, London
In addition to composing Lisa is also very active as an accompanist for concerts, recitals, competitions, grade and diploma examinations, specialising in working with singers. Since 2006 Lisa has held the post of Accompanist and Lecturer in Music Performance at Gower College Swansea.
In addition to her work as a composer and accompanist, Lisa is also a Music Lecturer on the South Wales 'Higher Education Plus' scheme affiliated to Cambridge University. Lisa is also Guest Tutor for the youth choir, Ariosa Singers, and the Mumbles Voices Community Choir.
Lisa is a keen singer and regularly performs with St. Teilo's Church Choir, Bishopston, Swansea, Amici Chamber Choir Wales, Mumbles Voices and Amabile.
