| The ELISION Saxophone Quartet captivates audiences with the power, grace, and elegance of their stylistically diverse and engaging programs. E.S.Q. concerts celebrate the saxophone family with an entertaining mix of Classical, Latin, Jazz, Doo-Wop, and Pop styles. The music of Bach, Tchaikovsky, Gershwin, Glenn Miller, Bernstein, Chick Corea, Francisca Gonzaga, Astor Piazzolla and more are proven crowd pleasers. The ELISION Saxophone Quartet tours under the auspices of and with fee support from the Texas Commission on the Arts Texas Touring Arts Roster and the Mid-America Arts Alliance.
Since their 1990 debut, their music has entertained audiences in a variety of settings to include concert halls, festivals, schools, receptions, corporate events, and celebrations. The ELISION Saxophone Quartet performed at the inauguration ceremony for Texas Governor George W. Bush, the Texas State Capital Building for First Lady Laura Bush, and the Governor's Mansion for former Texas Governor Ann Richards. Having earned their musical mastery from the University of Texas at Austin School of Music, blended with their individual experiences and strengths, results in the groups unique and elegant brand of acoustic excellence that is both enjoyable and engaging. Active music educators all, these highly motivated and accomplished educators present the saxophone family in an accessible and entertaining way through clinics and master classes offering historical perspective, hands on learning and question/answer sessions.
The ELISION Saxophone Quartet has presented feature recitals at The University of Tennessee at Knoxville, Southwest Texas State University, The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, Temple College, Dell Mar College and the Dell Jewish Community Campus.
In addition to capturing the grand prize at the Tablerock Invitational Music Festival, E.S.Q. has broadcast live performances and interviews on KUT-FM and KMFA-FM. The Quartet has also performed at International-Festival Institute at Round Top, the Texas State Jazz Festival, San Antonio's Holiday Saxophones, the Austin Chamber Music Marathon, Dell Computer, the University of Texas Chancellor's Council, the Frank Erwin Center, University of Texas Men and Women's Basketball Teams, the Austin Steam Train Association, Umlauf Sculpture Gardens, and the Ladybird Johnson Wildflower Research Center. E.S.Q. offers support to benefit organizations such as the Travis County Children's Advocacy Center and the United Cerebral Palsy Association.
