| | Amici Winds was formed in 2002 and is made up of graduates from the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama. They are a young, innovative and dynamic young ensemble working mainly as a wind quintet, adding and subtracting members to explore lots of different music.
Members of Amici Winds are all educators and freelancers and have worked with many orchestras including the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, RTE Orchestra, Scottish Chamber Orchestra and Scottish Opera.
Amici Winds are musicians on the Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now! scheme which promotes bringing live music to those who may not have access to it. They are currently the only wind quintet listed in Scotland, and only one of four in the whole of Britain.
